Dr. Steven F. DeKavis DVM Dr. Steven F. DeKavis was born and raised in north central Massachusetts, however he has spend a great deal of his free time in New Hampshire his entire life. He is a graduate of Cornell University and got his DVM from an excellent University in Italy and then did further work at the internship program at the famous Animal Medical Center in New York City. After that he has worked in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He loves nature and the outdoors so he has spent many a day and night exploring the mountains and back woods of our granite state. He has had many adventures on the trails both here and in such amazing places as Africa and many of the countries in Central and South America. He "gets by" with language knowledge in Spanish, Italian and Portugese. Those of you who speak French should try him out and see what he can do! Dr. Dekavis comes to us after spending over a year trying to do what a veterinarian can do to try to help the rain forest disasters in South America. He is an experienced talented Veterinarian and his kind gentle way is bound to show through. |

Diana who worked with us for so many years has moved on to new challenges. Karen was born in Nashua but has lived most of her life and was educated in Manchester. She has two grown children, Aimee now of Springfield, MA and Jonathan of Plymouth, NH. Karen is an excellent cook and quilter as well as an excellent technician. She loves her dogs and cats, reading, hiking and gratefully from all of us laughing. We can't live without Karen. Maura has been with us since 1996. She was born in Manchester and has always lived in the area. She has five grown children so now shares her house with three dogs and many cats. Maura loves quilting, reading, music, dancing, theater, and outdoor activities. She is a self-professed obsessive gardener, but the truth is she is incredibly knowledgeable in the field. Her caring and concern for animals and people, if not already apparent to you, will be obvious the more you see her. She is married to our long time friend and painter, Ron Pichette. Nancy was born in Brooklyn, New York but moved to New Hampshire 32 years ago. She has been a technician for many many years. She is married, has 2 grown children and two growing grandsons, 3 dogs, 2 cats, 1 guinea pig, and fish. Nancy enjoys working her Australian Shepherds in agility trials, Halloween, hiking, camping, and quilting. We really enjoy Nancy!! Alison who worked for us for many years is now employed in a large regional veterinary facility in Massachusetts. We wish her all things wonderful. All of us miss her very much. Donna is a West Manchester resident that is a great addition to the animal lovers here. She has always lived in Manchester. After 18 years of marriage she still loves her husband, Peter. In the past she had fun coaching Junior Deb Softball and now her hobbies include cross stitching, playing softball, playing cards and traveling (has been on multiple cruises and to Hawaii twice). Donna has two cats and one dog. She joined us in 2003 and is rapidly mastering all the aspects of this Hospital. Manon was born and raised in Manchester. She is a graduate of the prevet program at the University of New Hampshire and is considering a career in veterinary medicine. She has one dog, two brothers and one sister. She has traveled the East Coast of the US and enjoys cheerleading, participating in civil war enactments, and bargain hunting. Who wouldn't reduce the price on something to do business with someone as fun as Manon. Angela was born in Massachusetts but has lived in New Hampshire for her whole life. She has extensive experience in the animal field from which she has made her living for many years. Most of her experience has been with horses and cats. Angela likes to snow board and of course ride horses. She is a welcome addition to our full time staff with her beautiful smile and her happy, dedicated-to-animals spirit. Angela is now the happy mother of a baby girl, Hazel, born in April, 2010. Pauline hails from Trenton, NJ where she met her husband of 45+ years who was in the service. They have lived in Japan (3 years), Maine, and Florida before moving to Manchester almost 30 years ago now. Pauline and her husband have had many dogs over the years and currently have a shih tzu. Pauline works part of the third shift here and is primarily responsible for keeping our facility clean and shiny, in the tradition of Bette and Hilde before her. Thanks, Pauline. Holli is also a local hero being born and raised in the area. She has worked here since high school. We are proud to inform you that Holli is now working towards a DVM degree at the University of Prince Edward Island with graduation expected in 2011. Jessica is a graduate of West High who is extremely bright and who has been one of the fastest learners we have ever had at the Hospital. She loves both dogs and cats and works with us on a part time basis at this time. Sarah graduated near the top of her class at Goffstown High School and her level of intelligence will be obvious to you as you interact with her in the office. Sarah played soccer for GHS and was involved in several other extra-curricular activities. She is now a student at the University of Vermont and works with us during vacation times. Andrea graduated from Nashua high school and continued her education at the University of New Hampshire. At UNH she majored in zoology and minored in psychology with a concentration in animal behavior. This gives us another great resource for information on animal behavior issues, and it may help Andrea understand the group of us "animals" she is now working with. Good luck on that one. She has a wonderful way with animals and people and I'm sure her husband to be will agree with that one. We know you will agree. Kate graduated from college in May of 2008. She is with us to gain knowledge and experience in the small animal veterinary field to help with decision of life vocation direction. Kate has a brilliant mind and has a lifetime of animal experience with significant emphasis in the equine field. She has rapidly learned everything presented to her. We think you will find Kate to be as much fun for you to work with as she is for us. Talia is a college student in an excellent veterinary technician program. She is an very intelligent and wonderful person. We are lucky to have her work with us during vacations and when we can fit in hours between classes. We have know Talia and her family for many years as clients and are happy to have her now working with us. Ceara worked with us for about a year until health issues forced her to leave us. We wish her the best of luck with future endeavors.
